Chiringuito, Marbella

In preparation for their grand opening party tomorrow night on 26th May the guys at a fabulous chiringuito in Marbella asked us to spruce up the place and add a bit of colour to the venue. Naturally we were more than happy to spend the afternoon chatting to the guys while listening to some really cool music as we worked. Apart from being in a really great spot with good music and a chilled vibe, the food is seriously tasty and reasonably priced.

Plum and Peach at the Don Pepe in Marbella

Last Saturday was the wedding of our super couple Elaine and Niall at the Gran Melia Don Pepe in Marbella (http://www.gran-melia-don-pepe.com). With clear blue skies and a chilled out bride the day could not have started better. The colours for the day were plum, latte, cream and peach (to coordinate with the bridesmaids) with scatterings of feathers and crystals. Elaine is an interior designer (no extra pressure at all then lol!) and was very hands on from the start of the design process which was great. We were always in touch and as she is such a bubbly girl the ´craic´ was great along the way.
The day began with the ceremony under a wooden gazebo in the hotel grounds which we dressed with cream organza and added a few pops of colour with some plum organza sashes. The wedding party then progressed to the cocktail area alongside the pool where guests were refreshed and nibbled at our pretzel bar while admiring the sea view. During which time the kids were kept occupied by activity packs so that the adults could enjoy a drink or two in (relative!) peace.
The reception meal overlooked the sea and continued with Elaine´s chosen colour scheme set off by romantic lighting which really came alive as the sun went down. The guests were treated to entertainment by the brilliant Rat Pack (lwww.marbellaentertainments.com) before going inside to a private room to dance the night away until the early hours.
Sadly we didn´t have much time to photograph the day as we were so busy getting everything ready so until we are lucky enough to receive some professional photos (as mine clearly are not!) here is a taster of things to come.

Special thanks again to Pilar the Event Manager and her team at the Gran Melia, Lisa Franco wedding planner extraordinaire for a flawless day, Martin the videographer for the craic and stories, Lisa for the lovely flowers and all involved.

Easter wedding at Villa Montana

So here they are; the eagerly anticipated photos of Candice and Richard´s Easter wedding at the Villa Montana in Benalmadena.
The day began like many weddings with a buzz of excitement and a flurry of hair and make up but this one was slightly different in that the couple - with a nod to their Chinese roots - began with a Chinese tea ceremony before walking down the aisle. Dressed in a red traditional Chinese dress Candice looked absolutely stunning and this intimate ceremony was the perfect start to a really beautiful day. After a quick change Candice emerged in a simple yet stunning gown to walk down the aisle to say ´I do´ with her charming husband Richard.

The wedding was simple, elegant and intimate and we were so please to have been a part of it. The whole day flowed perfectly thanks to fab planner Lisa from Bella Weddings in Spain and the food was divine courtesy of Marbella Catering. And last but by no means least, thanks to Kris McGuirk for kindly sharing these gorgeous photos with us.
