Adios 2011; Hola 2012!

This year has been amazing. We were privileged to have been chosen by all of our brides and grooms to style and decorate the happiest day of their lives and it was such good fun to accompany them on their journeys. It is just so rewarding to be part of something they will treasure forever.

Looking forward to 2012, we are so excited to be creating stunning arrangements for more lovely weddings as well as some parties along the way which I look forward to sharing with you.

In the meantime I have created a couple of inspiration boards based on the ´hot´ colour of 2012 according to the king of the colour world, Pantone. You may or may not have heard of Pantone but in a nutshell, they are world´s authority on colour. Practically every logo and printed design spec the world over uses Pantone colours in their work to ensure perfect colour matches. For more info (if you like a bit of tech) have a look at their website - pantone.co.uk. Back to the matter at hand - the ´hot´colour of 2012 - Tangerine Tango. I love it and it would be lovely for a Spanish wedding. We have spectacular sunsets here so this fab colour would totally complement a balmy summer evening on the beach as the sun goes down with a sangria - or signature cocktail - in your hand. This rich orange colour is versatile and can be made sexy and sassy with tones of grey or bold and bursting with spirit using turquoise and pink.....the possibilities just go on and on. Enjoy and Happy New Year!!

Tangerine Tango and shades of grey for a sexy, sassy vibe.

Tangerine Tango with turquoise and pink for a bolder impact.

Gorgeous Gifts

While out shopping for Christmas pressies I came across these lovely scented soaps. Apart from smelling divine they would make gorgeous wedding favors especially if they were decorated and personalised with your chosen colour scheme and some lovely tags. Spain is renowned for its love of olive oil both for eating and for its moisturising properties so what nicer way than to treat friends and family to locally sourced soap with a special twist? Totally eco-friendly and fabulous!

Gorgeous Event Decoration at home for Christmas - Part 2

I didn´t get the chance last time to share some of my cute 3D reindeer pictures as I was midway through them and had to dash off to decorate a tree for a friend who has a restaurant and was expecting a large party for supper that evening. He wasn´t having much luck in the creative department and - like my other half leaves everything until the last minute!- time was of the essence so I lent a hand. We used icy blue and white for his tree and put floating candles with glittery snowflakes on the tables but I digress and that´s another story for another post!
Ok, so here are my 3D reindeer with silver snowflake creations. As I´ve said before my own personal photography is less than perfect so you have to look closely to see the little diamontes inside on the snowflakes. On the wall these look really funky and add a special touch to the area behind the tree.

I have a couple who are getting married in 2013 and are both vets and share a love of bulldogs. We are  in the process of designing their big day to incorporate their passions and this gives me some fab ideas.....

Gorgeous Event Decoration at home for Christmas

Once again Christmas is almost here and I just don´t know where the time has gone. Feels like only yesterday since I packed up all the decorations from last year. I remember as a child my mum rolling out the same old decorations year after year and (don´t get me wrong we loved decorating the house) it was a bit boring. So now every year we have a ´theme´ at home so that the house looks fresh and funky and the kids get even more excited. This year we have opted for silver and blue with reindeer. As the kids love getting involved I let them decorate the tree while I put some special touches elsewhere to carry the look through the house.

As the kids decorated the tree themselves and it looks like a dog's dinner ie 4 ornaments on one branch, nothing higher than 3 foot (I love letting them get creative and feel too guilty about changing it!) I don' t want to assault your eyes so think it's a better idea to give a photo of the tree a miss. Hope you like the other creations.

Let it snow...

Well for a day so I can feel like a child again and remember waking up to real snow outside my window! Snow is not a regular visitor to the Costa Del Sol. In fact in the 8 years that I have been living here I have only seen it on the very tops of the mountains a couple of times and though it is a lovely sight I am much happier in the sunshine. With snow and happy memories in mind, I´d like to share some snowy winter wedding inspiration with you. Snuggle up on the sofa with a hot chocolate (fluffy marshmallows and squirty cream optional hmmm) and enjoy.
