Shalga and Stephen - The big event

When I opened my email this morning and saw an email from the lovely Kris McGuirk I got very excited as I knew it contained photos of Shalga and Stephen´s wedding. My fingers started twitching in anticipation and  I was involuntarily making ´ooooo´ noises while I waited for the photos to download. I might sound quite odd admitting that (promise I am not a nutter ha ha!) but I get so excited when the photos arrive. It takes me back to the wedding day and to all the fun and frolicks that were had with the couple, the suppliers and everything that goes with the big day.

Shalga and Stephen were such a fun and relaxed couple from the very first time I met them in Benalmadena Pueblo and this was evident in the things they did during their big day. Shalga had chosen two gorgeous colours - burnt orange and jade - as their colour scheme and we used these rich vibrant colours throughout the venue.

The venue - Villa Montaña - is set over three levels and the guests were greeted by a ´welcome´ tree as they entered. We added some burnt orange ribbons to our custom made signs to point everyone in the right direction as the ceremony was in the upper part of the venue. The bridesmaids dresses were stunning as was the gorgeous bride, Shalga. Stephen looked like the cat that got the cream as Shalga walked down the aisle towards him!

After a beautiful ceremony guests enjoyed refreshments while relaxing in the grounds of the villa before they headed down to the lower part of the venue to eat, drink and dance the night away. We kept the table styling simple with orange organza sashes for the chairs and for the centrepieces we used large flat glass bowls with jade crystal nuggets and floating orange gerbera heads which we surrounded with romantic candles.

There were a couple of times in the day that the sky grew ominously darker and it looked like rain but thankfully the rain kept away and the sun came out. Phew.

Thanks to wedding planner extraordinaire Lisa Franco from Bella Weddings in Spain, beautiful Flowers By Lisa, fab food from Marbella Catering, Videography from Dougie at Silverscreen Weddings and last by no means least, Kris McGuirk for these superb photos. Thanks guys x
